ZIBCON Construction Company, Nippon Energy and Data Feed Mill have joined hands on a landmark 100 megawatt-hour (MWh) commercial and industrial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) initiative in Pakistan. The project is being positioned by the partners as Pakistanâs biggest commercial and industrial BESS project, representing a major step towards smarter, more resilient and more sustainable industrial energy infrastructure.
The planned initiative will be designed to support large commercial and industrial energy users by combining advanced battery storage, intelligent power conversion and renewable-energy integration. The project is intended to help businesses manage electricity demand, improve the utilization of solar generation, strengthen operational resilience and reduce exposure to power-quality and supply disruptions. The concept includes the integration of rooftop and ground-mounted solar generation with large-scale battery storage.

During periods of strong solar production, available energy can be used directly by industrial facilities and surplus generation can be stored for later use. The Battery Energy Storage System can then support selected loads during peak-demand periods or grid interruptions, subject to final engineering, operating strategy and grid requirements. Nippon Energy will bring its battery-storage and power-conversion technologies to the initiative, including Nippon Batteries energy-storage systems and Nippon AI PCS technology.
The system architecture is intended to provide intelligent monitoring, coordinated battery charging and discharging, power management and scalable deployment across commercial and industrial sites. The platform is designed for applications, including manufacturing facilities, food and beverage processing, rice mills, textile operations, cold storage and warehouses, hospitals and other energy-intensive commercial and industrial sites. Depending on site requirements, battery storage can be configured to support critical loads, peak-demand management, renewable-energy optimization and greater power resilience.
The partnership brings together infrastructure and construction capabilities of ZIBCON Construction Company, industrial and commercial platform of the Data Feed Mill, and energy-storage and intelligent power-conversion technology of the Nippon Energy. âThis 100MWh initiative represents an important step in our vision of building a stronger and smarter energy ecosystem for Pakistan. The partners will progress the project through detailed technical design, site assessment, electrical studies, commercial structuring, permitting and implementation planning. Final system capacity by site, PCS configuration, solar capacity, operating strategy and deployment schedule will be established through the project’s engineering and commercial development process.
